Golder serves the manufacturing, mining, oil and gas, power, and infrastructure sectors worldwide. As part of the Golder Process and Infrastructure Design Group (formerly Paste Engineering and Design), we provide consulting and engineering services specific to placement of thickened tailings or paste as underground backfill or for surface disposal projects. My group works specifically to design and construct large scale tailings processing facilities to aid mines in the dewatering and processing of mine tailings. In addition to tailings management projects, my group has engaged in mine, oil and gas, and municipal infrastructure work. My work is specific to mechanical and piping design, as part of Golder’s mechanical design services team. My responsibilities have included: • Development and creation of mechanical equipment and piping packages that include specifications, liaison with clients and vendors, vendor bid analysis, drawing preparation and technical review, contract/work order creation, and procurement support. • Major process pipeline sizing and specifications including detailed pipeline routing plans. Drawing creation in CAD software. Creation of Piping and Instrumentation drawings and including multi-disciplinary input into one document. Generation of construction drawings for large-scale process plants and infrastructure projects. • Aiding onsite with commissioning, equipment start-up, installation, and optimization of designs created by my group.
