Recently I have been leading the analysis on the mandatory elements of PSD2 to scope out and form up the project ready for it to move into build and delivery. This has been done using an Agile approach as it has allowed us to iterate our process as more information has become available or as the business goals change. This has included running stakeholder workshops to help everyone identify the impact on their business areas; supporting a group of analysts in understanding the technical standards for security as written by the EBA; working with fraud stakeholders to understand the exemptions to SCA; structuring the programme for delivery; initiating key workstreams; and providing support and guidance to the rest of the analyst population working on the programme.Prior to that I have was leading the scoping and analysis for delivering a change to the way fraud and financial crime cases are identified, recorded and managed. This has involved working with stakeholders to understand current and target operating models as well as engaging 3rd parties to understand what is available in order to suggest options and recommendations to the business areas. I was also part of a team rolling out a vastly improved online and telephony current account application journey. This involved working closely with the product owners to support them in understanding their business requirements and translating them into technical designs for delivery by a number of 3rd parties. Alongside this, I have also been coaching and mentoring a number of new to role analysts who have had varying levels of expertise to allow them to develop on their roles and reach their potential.

Working in the Group Change Management team, I started building my knowledge of business analysis and project management through working on various central change programmes covering a mixture of technical and non-technical changes across a variety of business areas within the Bank. As an introduction to RBS, I spent time working in the fraud department of the Bank protecting customers from fraud before it happened and putting right any losses if a customer had been unlucky enough to suffer financial loss.

Areas of responsibility ranged from supervising the customer facing sales teams to managing departments and clusters of sales units in an £18m per annum business. This included ensuring the teams had the resources, knowledge and support required to serve the customers in an incredibly high paced, demanding and secure environment.
