Working on the design and installation of two BMS systems, one of which must be fully Validatable and conform to FDA regulations and legislation for drug production. As a Senior Project Engineer work included supporting several Project Managers in a demanding role encapsulating all elements of the design, finance and management process. Duties include, interface and management of all site issues, control of software and hardware issues. Control of project schedule. Project cost €55m, part of €2.4billion project.An extensively schedule driven project, emphasise on schedule and planning was a key requirement. Responsibility included interface with a dedicated planning and scheduling team to meet project milestones and deadlines.A large proportion of the €55 project being the control systems hardware, time included the management and development of the physical control system. Responsible for ensuring it conformed to the correct design as well as factory and site acceptance testing.Financial responsibly for costing of client driven design changes to the software and hardware system. A role as test co-ordinator for all software and graphics incorporated the management of teams of engineers developing and testing software.Trained on QA and the validation of systems, management interface was a continuous process. Scrutiny from a QA prospective included regular audits. This was embedded through the project and engineering teams to ensure the systems conformed to the validatable design and passed a stringent quality control policy. -
Building Services Hvac EngineerAea Technology Feb 1998 - Aug 2002Responsible for the implementation of HVAC systems within the Centre for Applied Microbiological Research’s main facility at Porton Down (CAMR - now the Health Protection Agency HPA). Systems included a high degree of micro biological containment to ACDP levels 2 & 3. Duties include full design of all HVAC and HEPA filtration systems including full commissioning. On site co-ordination and supervision, project management of contract including financial control and letting of sub contracts. Co-ordination of project to CDM regulations. Part of team responsible for the design, co-ordination and installation of an Argon Fire Detection and Suppression system for BNFL/ Magnox vaults (FED) at their nuclear power station Trawsfynydd. A bespoke project that incorporated all elements of design through to commissioning. Duties include design of system, interface with client in the resolution of major issues including bespoke items. Writing of major documentation including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Design Substantiation.
