I keep a current 'Red Card' which allows me to be hired on if ever there is a fire threatening my home town. I worked out at the retardant site 2009 when the last fire almost burnt Tanacross Village. It keeps me in shape and I really enjoy doing the work. In the past I would also go out with a crew when they sent Alaska crews outside. Last place we went out to was the Trinity National Forest near Redding Calif. Neat place. I have also been on fires in Idaho, Oregon, Utah and Nevada.
