The Bath Innovative Design and Manufacturing Research Centre (IdMRC) is located in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Bath. It was supported by a large grant from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) from October 2006 to September 2011. The Centre is unique in the UK in its emphasis on research in both design and manufacture, based on long-established research strengths in machine design and design information systems, and in manufacturing processes and systems. The Centre has a strong portfolio of research in design and manufacture and their interface, supported by a well-equipped laboratory and with a particular emphasis on the development of techniques and methodology.
