I have over 17 years' experience in the Ecology sector, with a focus on bird and bat ecology in addition to a life-long interest in herpetology. I am proficient in UKHab survey, hold a current NPTC tree climbing licence and have extensive ECoW experience covering major infrastructure projects, as well as residential and renewables schemes. My bird survey experience covers all established methodologies, having worked on dozens of large-scale renewable energy projects since 2008. I have also project managed large-scale projects particularly in my previous employment role for SLR Consulting, giving me an understanding of the demands placed on clients.The focus of my work since 2012 has been on supporting ecological consultancies, including large multi-disciplinary organisations, with protected species survey and ECoW. This support role has extended over many years with the majority of my clients with reliable delivery of projects and a focus on the needs of the consultant helping to build a lasting relationship. In addition to bird and bat expertise I have experience of reptile, dormouse, otter and water vole surveys. I have undertaken several large reptile and GCN translocations over the years, often managing the complete workload for these on behalf of clients including resourcing experienced assistants.I currently hold NE, NatureScot and NRW licences for bats (the former since 2009) as well as NE and NRW licences for great crested newt (since 2008). I am also a licensed tree climber and therefore undertake climb-and-inspect surveys/ECoW roles for bats along with trusted and experienced assistants, most recently on a cross-country water pipeline project in East Anglia/Lincolnshire.
