As a high school wrestling coach, I am responsible for leading, developing, and inspiring a team of student-athletes in the sport of wrestling. My role extends beyond teaching the technical aspects of wrestling; it encompasses mentoring young individuals in sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and physical fitness. Some of my key responsibilities include technical training, physical conditioning, mental preparation, safety and well-being, team management, leadership and mentoring, community and school engagement, and compliance and ethics. As a high school wrestling coach, my role transcends mere instruction in the techniques and strategies of the sport. I am committed to molding young athletes not just in their physical prowess but in mental fortitude, sportsmanship, and discipline. My days are filled with teaching effective stances, masterful takedowns, and strategic defenses, coupled with rigorous physical conditioning to enhance their strength, speed, and endurance.More than just a coach, I see myself as a mentor. I instill in my wrestlers the importance of mental toughness and focus, guiding them to set and achieve realistic goals. Safety is paramount in my approach, ensuring each practice and match prioritizes their well-being.I take pride in managing the team, organizing practices, and leading them in competitions. My role extends into the community, liaising with school officials and parents, fostering an environment where the wrestlers can thrive both on the mat and in their academic pursuits.Ethics and integrity guide my coaching philosophy. I strive to not only build a competitive team but also to cultivate young individuals who embody respect, hard work, and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of life. My ultimate goal is to leave a lasting impact on these young athletes, equipping them with skills and values that extend far beyond the wrestling mat.
  • Chaplains On The Harbor
    Assistant Executive Director
Chaplains On The Harbor Apr 2018 - Dec 2023
    Montesano, Wa. 98563
In my role at Chaplains On the Harbor (COH), I served as a dedicated team member contributing to the organization's mission of supporting marginalized individuals in Grays Harbor County, Washington. My duties encompassed a wide range of responsibilities aimed at creating positive change in the lives of those facing homelessness, addiction, trauma, mental health challenges, and racial injustice.I played a vital role in the day-to-day operations of COH's Westport day center, which serves as a lifeline for individuals seeking essential services and resources. This included providing access to meals, showers, and connecting patrons with critical mental health, substance use disorder (SUD), and housing resources. My role extended to offering guidance and support, drawing upon my training as a Recovery Coach and Peer Support Counselor.Additionally, I actively participated in COH's apprenticeship program and Harbor Roots Farm initiative. Here, I contributed to job training and support services for individuals striving to rebuild their lives. This endeavor involved empowering program participants to overcome adversity, gain vocational skills, and engage in self-advocacy.As a team member of COH, I was deeply committed to the organization's peer/worker-run nonprofit model, where individuals with lived experiences played a central role in decision-making. I worked collaboratively with colleagues, mentors, and community partners to foster relationships, advocate for systemic change, and amplify the voices of those we served.Through my dedication, compassion, and active involvement, I helped COH fulfill its mission and provide critical assistance to vulnerable populations. My duties were driven by the belief that everyone deserves equitable access to resources and the opportunity to rebuild their lives.
  • Chaplains On The Harbor
    Assistant Executive Director
Chaplains On The Harbor Apr 2018 - Dec 2023
    Montesano, Washington, United States
I started as an apprentice working as a farmer at Harbor Roots Farm which is a subsidiary of Chaplains On the Harbor that they started in an attempt to have a supportive employment program for people coming out of rehab, incarceration, or getting housed. Within one season, I was promoted to the Farm Manager. My duties ranged from planning what to plant to include in the CSA boxes we produced to planting seeds, prepping the field, setting up the irrigation system, and "putting the farm to bed" over the winter. I then transitioned into donor database management, engagement, and retention. I also managed the day to day tasks that needed to be done in QuickBooks online. Due to the nonprofit nature of what the organization was trying to accomplish, I had many opportunities to travel the U.S. and hold public speaking events. As the Secretary to the Board of Directors, I took it upon myself to produced financial spreadsheets for the Board so they had an accurate view of the financial position of the organization. Fundraising is almost always an issue in nonprofits and due to this fact I spearheaded a program to get COH authorized to bill Medicaid for services we were already providing. From start to finish, I completed the required forms and paperwork as well as forming relationships with the companies that approve organizations applications to become Foundational Community Supports (FCS) providers and train the organization administrator on how the process works, what is allowable to be billed for, and train the administrator on how to use the various portals and record keeping methods so the financial reimbursements get paid when the work is done right or get denied when the work is done poorly. I subsequently trained everyone at COH on what FCS is, how it works, the billable vs non-billable actions, and produced a step-by-step flow chart so the employees at COH had everything they needed to perform their jobs.
