My experience as a maintenance supervisor, branch service manager, and ultimately a district service manager for multiple transportation companies has provided me the ability to effectively lead a team to reach goals and set new benchmarks for success. During my tenure in these roles, I was responsible for all aspects of the service department and the overall health of the vehicle fleet. As a manager of operations, my responsibilities included managing the maintenance program, the parts inventories, and the P&L of the department in order to maximize component life and, when repairs were necessary, that they were completed in a timely fashion. I had oversight of 75 direct reports in multiple locations and developing efficient maintenance processes implemented consistently across those locations was a key aspect of my success. The district under my direction had operated at over 110% of our business plan projection for 6 years and had been honored with the President’s Award for three consecutive years. As a manager of the maintenance operation for the fleet, I was required to have an intricate knowledge of all company procedures as well as OEM training and guidelines. I was able to bring the locations under my report into compliance with our company’s policies and procedures and ensure a positive impact to our operating revenues and minimize our cost.
