Co-founded Altima Malta Limited in 2014, a boutique accounting and tax consultancy firm made up of knowledgeable and experienced consultants primarily focused on international business with offices situated in Swatar on the Mediterranean island of Malta.Our main areas of specialisation are:(a) corporate tax and VAT;(b) accounting;(c) corporate services, including company formation, the provision of directorship and secreterial services; and(d) high net worth individuals residency and tax planning.

Involved in lecturing students currently following an ACCA or ACA degree. Involved in the Fundamental Paper (F6) in taxation and also the Professional Paper (P6) in taxation, both local variant papers focusing on Maltese income tax, VAT and duty topics.

Manager in the Corporate and Tax Services Line of RSM Malta Consulting Limited, the Malta member firm of RSM International, a worldwide network of independent professional services firms. Main responsibilities included: a) Overall responsibility of tax and VAT compliance services provided to all RSM Malta clients, responding directly to the partners of the firm. Liaising with internal lawyers on other corporate services provided to clients. b) Dealing with promotion of the Maltese tax system within the RSM network, and occassionally representing the Malta office in the International Tax Compliance Services Group within the network in conferences held throughout Europe, which group is responsible to promote the provision of concerted compliance services to multinational corporations. c) Assistance provided prior to the setting up of businesses by foreigners in Malta, both by providing tax structuring advice, as well as assistance with all registration requirements.d) Responsibility for issuing of tax advice in the fields of direct and indirect taxation. I was involved in advice in relation to proposed setups in Malta, proposed cross border asset transfers, as well as VAT related advice. e) Providing comprehensive treaty advice and assistance with issues relating to permanent establishments, withholding taxes and the elimination of double taxation. f) Assistance provided to the accounting department on queries arising on preparation of VAT returns and submission of VAT Recapitulative statements.

Direct and indirect tax compliance and advisory services provided both to local and international companies, within the Tax and Legal Services Department of PricewaterhouseCoopers. Clients were mainly involved in the financial services sector (more specifically collective investment schemes and fund managers), the remote gaming sector, yacht leasing sector, and in the tourism sector. Advisory on the fiscal legislation applicable to international business, particularly to double taxation treaties in force and the current refund system applicable to foreign owned companies. Involved in the setting up of new international companies and day-to-day administration of such companies, including preparation of board minutes and drafting of board resolutions. Forming part of the internal PwC Value Added Tax team, taking part in discussions within the group regarding local VAT developments and also taking part in online conferences with other PwC Eurofirm offices, in relation to VAT issues at EU level. Worked extensively and serviced clients on VAT developments in particular those involved in the remote gaming industry.
