About Chris Prentice

MPhys Graduate from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen,Scotland. Currently working in private musculoskeletal physiotherapy for Peak Pilates and Physiotherapy in Grey Lynn, Auckland, NZ. Originally brought up a Kiwi in Aberdeen, Scotland it was my love of rugby that brought me home to Aotearoa.Prior to commencing a Masters in Physiotherapy at RGU (in Scotland), I completed both a BSc in sport and exercise science as well as an MPhil (Sport and exercise) at Massey University,Palmerston North, NZ with a thesis and subsequent publications investigating "the effects of customary post-game behaviour on rugby specific performance measures following competitive match play". Throughout this time I was also fortunate to represent the University, Manawatu academy and NZ Universities in rugby. It was the pursuit of both academic and sporting goals that resulted in the desire to return to the UK to further my education to allow me to provide education and a service to others on the return to and optimisation of function. Upon graduation I returned to New Zealand as a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist. On top of clinical practice my previous education in the field of sport and exercise has resulted in the continual search for more postgraduate education particularly in bridging the gap between sort science and traditional physiotherapy. I am grateful to have found the Functional Anatomy system around which I believe forms the basis for effective pre and rehabilitation. I have been fortunate to work with a number of high caliber athletes however er it is the work ethic towards achieving recovery that inspires me to continue to learn and therefor provide an ever evolving individual approach to rehabilitation and training. I have been loyal to Peak for the great opportunity out of university and despite getting the opportunity to venture into management I am always on the look out for a challenge.Outside of the realm of physiotherapy you will find me exploring NZ with my sidekick Bongo the dog or in the gym trying to repair a number of injuries and chasing health and wellbeing through both Functional range conditioning and Crossfit.
