CurrentI sweep, rake, pick up and dispose of leaves, litter, and other debris from surfaces surrounding facilities and reservoir roofs and clean drains. I clear areas around facilities with weeds, brush, hedges, shrubs, and small trees. I keep detailed records of hours worked and the work performed, equipment and materials used; monitor and document weather and field conditions, evaluate and document alternatives considered, and use of pesticides. I'm familiar with EBMUD's AIM work order system, ETS, IPM field reporting system, I submit monthly chemical use reports to County Ag. and attend monthly Local Safety Committe meetings. I've worked out of class as Foreman and performed their duties when needed. I drive a truck, specialized tractor, spray rig and other vehicles such as Aebi mower, skid Steer, and forklift during the performance of the work; operate and tow a variety of grounds maintenance equipment. Perform a variety of general gardening tasks such as fertilizing, mulching, and staking of plants, irrigate planted areas according to an established schedule; troubleshoot, and make repairs to sprinkler systems. I spray for the control of weeds, insects, and plant diseases; select, measure, and mix pesticides, herbicides, and other chemicals; calibrate equipment; ensure that proper safety precautions are taken. I operate, adjust, clean, and perform minor maintenance on a variety of hand and power tools such as chainsaws, power hedgers, blower. I report major repair work as needed prune, shape, or remove large tree branches; may remove entire diseased and unwanted trees. I managed and worked alongside Civicorps on multiple work projects including fire prevention through weed abatement, removal of fallen tree limbs and other vegetation management techniques to meet local fire department regulations. I installed erosion control measures using wattle and jute netting throughout multiple areas.
