Fable Factory is a collective of creatives and storytellers: artists, musicians, writers, and designers who create original works in every genre and medium.I joined Fable Factory as a writer to work on an original property; currently under development, it will be a multimedia storytelling project including a graphic novel, prose fiction, and original soundtrack and concept album. I'm also now attached to two other Fable Factory projects: a Cthulhu-themed metal album which has now expanded to include collaborative fiction writing and a role-playing game in the early stages of development, and a sequel to an existing Fable Factory illustrated novella with original art and music.

My first self-published novel, Each Little Universe, launched on April 30th 2020. Brain in Hand's goal is to help people achieve their own ambitions their own way. A little bit of technology goes a long way to helping someone develop their own independence and problem-solving skills, and from my position in the marketing team I have the honour of seeing firsthand how much of a difference that makes.I create internal and external communications in a variety of forms: emails, social media campaigns, videos (which I taught myself to edit so that I could better serve the role). Supporting every arm of Brain in Hand means I need to know about almost everything that happens within the company, which means I'm in the immensely rewarding position of getting to hear all about the fantastic work we do across healthcare, education, employment, and more.My primary area of contribution is in written content, from thought leadership articles (which I'm trusted to write on behalf of senior members of staff) to white papers, from social media posts to direct-to-user comms.I worked as a Business Development Officer from June 2017 to September 2019; I was then a Marketing and Communications Executive until being promoted to Marketing Communications Manager in March 2021.

Skullgate Media is an independent publishing collective of which I was a founding member. Our flagship publication was the anthology series Tales from the Year Between, each volume of which takes place in a new and original world created by the contributors.I contributed fiction to the published volumes, edited others' contributions, screened applicants, produced a podcast, made videos for our YouTube channel, and assisted with all elements of the behind-the-scenes running of a new independent publisher. After a few successful books, we decided that Skullgate was a passion project rather than a sustainable business, so we closed the company but continued to work together on creating things we love.

I volunteered to help the wonderful charity Medical Detection Dogs with their written content. This included internal and external communications, website and social media assistance, and capturing the all-important success stories that this charity has made possible.Medical Detection Dogs train and connect people with specialist furry friends who aren't just their companions but could well save their lives.

Philosophiraga is an audio presentation in the Well-Red Mage family of content.Each episode, I look at a big idea from the history of philosophy and discuss how it relates to the world of video games. It's sort of like an introductory philosophy course mashed up with gaming culture, which (I like to think) makes it a bit more interesting. I created gaming reviews and opinion pieces for The Well-Red Mage, a site aiming to create meaningful discussion and foster respect, rather than enmity, between differing views. I also edited others' contributions and assisted with moderation of the community subreddit.Although I no longer contribute written content to The Well-Red Mage, I am the host of Philosophiraga, a sister podcast to Mage Cast (TWRM's flagship audio presentation, on which I've appeared to discuss games and gaming culture in depth). Philosophiraga is an introductory philosophy course disguised as a fun show about games, or perhaps a fun show about games disguised as an introductory philosophy course. Either way, we take one important concept from philosophy each episode and discuss it in the context of one or more games, making an interesting and sometimes overly-complex topic more accessible.

I've produced pieces for multiple gaming websites including games reviews, opinion pieces, and in-depth analyses. This included my own personal blog networks as well as sites such as Obilisk, where I contributed thorough and researched feature columns, and Bonus Stage, where I was provided with games and tasked to create a well-reasoned review within a short time frame.At The Well-Red Mage, a long-form reviews specialist, I was also a content editor and moderator of the community subreddit.

In this varied role, I ensured that occupational pension schemes run smoothly. I was responsible for answering queries, over the telephone or by written communication, which could be from financial advisers or scheme members with no knowledge of pensions. I therefore needed to be able to communicate difficult technical concepts in a way that anyone could understand.I also required a strong working knowledge of the relevant legislation and administrative systems, which I was able to quickly develop; in a very short time, I went from having no experience in pensions whatsoever to being a valuable member of a small, specialised team.
