I am an 18 year veteran of several sectors of the Construction Industry. I have over 8 years of field work experience as a laborer and foreman doing Pipe and drain laying, excavation, Heavy equipment operation, site servicing and preparation, curb/sidewalk/paving preparation, Industrial sized concrete forming and pouring works. I have 10 years experience as a red sealed journeyman Plumber and pipefitter, building and supervising heavy civil infrastructure process piping systems, primarily on water and wastewater treatment facilitates and some occasional dabbling in the residential sector as a full service construction plumber for newly constructed homes. Having served as a Health and Safety coordinator for several years now, I am well practiced in policy and procedure writing, implementation and communication. I am involved in COR auditing, familiar with SMS systems and have been an integral part of the Covid-19 response in 2020.With my vast and extensive experience on the production side of the industry, I bring an intimate understanding of the challenges to working safely in the field, and the often utilized short cuts employed at those times. There are few situations I have not personally encountered and I am well armed to problem solve most any Safe work challenge. I'm also very sensitive to the necessary balance of safety, production and budget. Safety must be accessible if it is to be utilized.We work in a time where the concepts of safety and production being competing ideas are behind us. To be successful in todays climate, companies must embrace the wholistic idea of safe production.
