Mass Participation World provides education and assistance in organising world standard mass participation sporting events.I founded the company in 2015, after seeing an enormous opportunity for the mass participation sports industry to collaborate more, and embrace partnership and best practice.My aim is to help create a strong integrated industry that not only delivers benefits for stakeholders, but also impacts the lives of those less fortunate through giving. One of the amazing organisations our events has helped is BUY1GIVE1 (B1G1), a charity that matches every transaction, with a ‘gift impact’ for someone in need.We aim to positively impact the lives of millions of people through safe, well-executed events and year-round engagement.We have narrowed our focus to three key areas:1. Creating commercially viable concepts that meet the objectives of all stakeholders, especially the opportunity for extended participant engagement.2. Building genuine win-win partnerships with strong collaboration that respect the priorities of all parties, including sponsors and multiple government agencies.3. Developing robust implementation plans that embrace best practice and address the potential for disaster.Many of our partnerships are formed via our annual conference. My life has been quite a journey, an amazing journey. From humble beginnings growing up poor on a farm in Zimbabwe, to creating and delivering mass participation sports events across three continents. Some of the true highlights include working on the Sydney 2000 Olympics and recently, meeting Sir Richard Branson at his home on Necker Island.I consider myself incredibly fortunate that I am given the opportunity draw upon my life experiences to help and inspire people to live a better life.I am often booked by conference organisers and businesses who are looking for someone with a unique story to inspire delegates and staff, whilst at the same time delivering relevant business and life lessons.I’ve always believed that our greatest opportunity to grow and learn comes from times of extreme pressure. Among the many highs, my life has also been punctuated by “disasters” on both a personal and business level. All of these have presented me with priceless gifts that have helped me evolve into the successful person I am today.My “Gift of Disaster” keynote takes the audience on a roller coaster ride of real-life case studies that tie back to a number of valuable business principles.The presentation is highly adaptable and can be tailored to suit a conference theme or any business objective.
