Primary developer for a multithreaded document parsing system that processes content from distributed sources and generates normalized output for reporting and other requirements. Implementation is done using Java SE, Apache HttpClient, ActiveMQ and jsoup. Document parsing is performed using a combination of RegEx and CSS Selectors and messages are sent between systems using JSON and JMS. Also a contributing developer for the ESAdmin, QuiBids and Shoppie websites.

Principal developer for the POAMAgent and POAMReporter projects. These are an initial proof of concept for an enterprise level desktop application that will provide distributed log analysis and reporting for security testing frameworks. Implementation was done using Java SE, JPA 2.0, Apache Derby and SSL. The application is designed to be modular, support large files, and provide communication between client desktops to share parsing results.

Designed and developed boutique websites for local independent artists using PHP5 and XSLT. Smaller sites were developed using a custom template system to allow for quick deployment using a simple XML configuration file to link product images with names and descriptions. Larger sites were built using Drupal and MySQL when user and better content management was required. Artist content included airbrush paintings, custom wedding mirrors and hand sculpted designer rocks!

Secondary developer for the Getflix 1.0 web application, a DVD subscription rental service similar to early Netflix. Implementation was done using PHP5 and MySQL with separate 3rd party systems for billing and distribution which were integrated using SOAP. Also developed mockups for new versions using CakePHP and Django templates.

Defined test processes and led small QA teams for the Broker Web eSubmission, Broker Web Pipeline and Prequal 2.0 projects. Test cases were focused on data and XML validation in addition to standard UI testing and results were tracked using Excel and other document systems. Also maintained a defect tracking system, performed off hour deployment regression testing and provided mentoring for junior department members.

Primary developer for the VCSExcelParser project, a small desktop application developed for the Vermont Country Store using VB.NET and Excel Automation. This application provided users the ability to import employee review spreadsheets in multiple formats and export to a common format required by the Human Resources department.

Facilitated QA department in implementing test processes and developed automated test scripts for the WinStorm Desktop application. Manual test cases provided by existing employees were evaluated and converted to automation using Mercury Test Director. Also performed manual testing and maintained SQL scripts for data verification tests, releases and migrations.

Provided remote support to locations in multiple countries for distributed NetCache systems during a global deployment of network hardware appliances. Performed analysis of traffic logs, reported system usage and developed scripts to automate log parsing and metric reporting using RegEx and PERL. Also provided on-site support during local installs to coordinate vendor delivery, installation and verification of system performance.

Initially employed as a SQA Engineer and performed manual testing for the NewsEdge web application and other internal systems. Later moved into development and became a Web Systems Developer for the Dialog NewsEdge, XML on Demand and Dialog Portals projects. Implementation was done using Classic ASP and integration with 3rd party systems such as Plumtree and Oracle Application Server.

Performed on-site technical support for clients of the eBusiness Solutions department. Client solutions included a web application portal installed at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals to assist users with patent research and an LDAP directory used for print server permissions. Also facilitated the development of a new QA group within the department for testing custom web portal releases.

Defined test processes and led small QA teams for the MediaManager and MediaMap Intranet web applications. Designed and maintained a computer lab to support QA and Development groups and built a custom interface for the Soffront Track defect tracking application using VBScript. Also maintained source control using VSS and and performed release engineering tasks such as burning disks and creating InstallShield scripts.

Facilitated the development of a new test process for the SellingPoint ERP/CRM desktop application. Evaluated multiple automation tools and recommended VisualTest based on the client’s testing requirements. Worked closely with existing employees to define the testing process and developed the initial test harness and a function library for the department to use with automated script development. The company was later purchased by Oracle and the product integrated into Oracle Order Entry.

Performed browser validation testing for the Thomson Gale InfoTrac web portal using both manual and automated test cases. Validation scripts were developed using Seque SilkTest to simulate user input and executed against different versions of Internet Explorer and Netscape web browsers.

Performed manual and automated testing for the OnGuard Firewall and Elron Firewall applications. OnGuard was a firewall that utilized stateful packet inspection, a first at the time, and was delivered pre-installed on a DOS based PC. The Elron Firewall was the next generation of the application and ran on Windows NT 4.0. Testing was performed both manually and using automated VisualTest scripts. Also managed a BETA release program and worked closely with the Marketing and Tech Support departments.

Developed automated test suites and performed functional and performance testing for the AppleShare IP 5.0 product release. Functional testing was performed both manually and using automated tests written in a proprietary scripting language. Performance testing was executed against various hardware and software configurations using standardized computer racks and the Ziff Davis NetBench and WebBench benchmarks.
