As a Senior Executive Lawyer at AGS I principally act for the ACCC in regulatory investigations and civil penalty proceedings arising under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (CCA). I have significant experience advising and acting in cartel and market conduct cases under Part IV of the CCA and particular particular expertise in the conduct of large-scale multi party litigation. I also have experience in advising corporations on a wide range of competition and consumer law issues and responding to regulatory investigations.Representative cases* Acting for the ACCC in proceedings against BlueScope Steel and Jason Ellis concerning alleged attempts by to fix prices for flat steel products supplied in Australia (VID 932/2019).* Acting for the ACCC in proceedings against J Hutchinson Pty Ltd and the CFMMEU concerning an unlawful boycott of a waterproofing subcontractor (ACCC v J Hutchinson Pty Ltd [2022] FCA 98).* Acting for the ACCC in proceedings against NSW Ports in relation to agreements reached with the Stateof NSW which were alleged to substantially lessen competition in the market for container port services (ACCC v NSW Ports Operations Hold Co Pty Ltd [2021] FCA 720) . * Acting for the ACCC against Volkswagen AG, Audi AG and related entities arising out of the 'dieselgate' emissions cheating scandal.* Acting for the ACCC in proceedings concerning non-compete agreements in the polycarbonate roofing industry (ACCC v Oakmoore Pty Ltd FCA 1472 [2018] FCA 1169 and ACCC v Oakmoore Pty Ltd (No 2) [2018] FCA 1170 and ACCC v Oakmoore Pty Ltd [2018] FCA 1472).* Acting for the ACCC against ANZ Bank and Macquarie Bank for attempts to rig foreign exchange benchmarks in Singapore (ACCC v Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited [2016] FCA 1516).* Acting for the ACCC against 6 corporate and 5 individual respondents for rigging a tender for mining exploration licences in NSW (ACCC v Cascade Coal [2018] FCA 1019 and on appeal [2019] FCAFC 154).* Acting for the ACCC against Cement Australia and related entities for misuse of market power and anticompetitive agreements (ACCC v Cement Australia Pty Ltd [2013] FCA 909 (liability), ACCC vCement Australia Pty Ltd (2016) 242 FCR 389 (penalty) and ACCC v Cement Australia Pty Ltd(2017) 258 FCR 312 (penalty appeal).
