Natural-born leader: Former D1 prospect with five years' team captain experience across multiple sports. Inherent charisma and confidence. Comfortable speaking to crowds and speaking up for the voiceless.Academically gifted: Sports management major, graduated with college GPA of 3.94 while extremely active in extracurriculars (e.g., basketball, National Honors Society, numerous clubs and awards).Giving heart: Extensive track record of volunteerism and community outreach. Started nonprofit to collect and disseminate coats to local homeless community.On the path to earning my black belt at age eight, our dojo's daily creed became my mantra: “Goals we set are goals we get." Ever since, I've built a track record as a "grinder" who gives all of himself in all he does.I graduated high school top 10th percentile in a class of over 800, and I was ranked as the 21st high school basketball player in the country, on track for a D1 scholarship until succumbing to a career ending navicular fracture. I recovered from both the injury and the heartbreak to beat a 2% acceptance rate and join the US Air Force Academy. After rising to rank C3 (Cadet, 3rd class), I was working towards my new goal of becoming an Air Force officer when my body, once again, had other plans, as a bout of exercise-triggered rhabdomyolysis led to an honorable discharge.Despite the disappointment that has come from these setbacks, I've since found them to be a gift, teaching me a newfound sense of steadiness and humility in the face of life's challenges. I've learned that it isn't hitting life's curveballs that counts—it's getting back up to the plate. Now, I look forward to pairing these hard-won lessons with the same work ethic and dogged determination that I've brought to every goal since my days in the dojo.
