My role is to provide technical support and guidance on all aspects of lifting operations to the onshore project engineers and the onshore and offshore construction teams, ensuring that all lifting operations are carried out in compliance with current legislation. My role has involved assisting the Lifting Technical Authority rewriting both the Lifting Operations Procedure and Technical Standard to ensure that they are both in keeping with legislation and (LOLER) and industry best practices (LEEA, Step Change in Safety). Following the implementation of these procedures my role is to ensure that everyone involved with rigging and lifting operations on any Marathon offshore asset is suitably mentored on how best to apply the procedure and assist personnel with completion of suitable and sufficient lift planning and risk assessment which will satisfy not only the company procedure but also the regulatory body during the auditing process. Part of the role is also to liaise with onshore project teams to determine requirements for lifting operations, equipment and personnel required.

As part of the platform leadership team I report directly to the OIM.Being the rigging and lifting focal point on the platform, i ensure Crane operations and maintenance, Crane lifting & portable rigging operations are adequately planned and documented as per procedure. I am responsible for providing technical support for all lifting activities undertaken within LOLER and Chevron procedures, highlighting any potential issues and or challenges and offering practical solutions to complete work safely. I work closely with onshore Technical Authority to ensure that lifting procedures are maintained within safety standard guidelines. Ensure equipment certification & crane maintenance is maintained within legal guidelines. I assume delegation of authority for onshore Technical Authority during periods of absence, overseeing lifting operations for four other Chevron assets, providing technical support and verifying procedure conformance for complex lifting plans. My role also covers being Bilfinger representative on the asset where I drive and maintain client expectations, safety leadership and model behaviors and also ensure that company procedures, HSEQ expectations and business targets are met.

Supervising the Deck crew in their everyday duties, controlling all cargo movements to and from supply vessels, supervising all rigging and lifting operations around the platform and undertaking the role of H.L.O during helicopter operations. Carried out all aspects of rigging & lifting activities in accordance with procedure and LOLER from planning the lifting operations to execution and completion of the work.Frequently take the role of Platform Services Supervisor, this involves control of materials including purchasing / tracking and supply vessel manifests all controlled through SAP, and also ensuring I set the standards and expectations for safe deck operations to be carried out. Part of my role as deck foreman was assessing team members NVQ’s assisting them to achieve this qualification using various method of assessment.
