Based out of Busan, South Korea, I've carved out a niche as a unique and engaging writer by delving deeply into this dynamic, delicious, and sometimes chaotic corner of the globe.Since 2019 I've worked as a regular contributor for National Geographic Traveller (UK), providing firsthand accounts of my adventures throughout the region. I've also penned destination features in conjunction with local tourist boards.My award-winning work has also appeared in Condé Nast Traveler, Fodor's Travel, Asia Times, EnRoute Magazine, as well as The San Diego Reader, Green Mountains Review, Matador Network, and many more.In addition to my articles, I've written two books about my life and travels in Asia: "Dispatches from the Peninsula" and "The Worst Motorcycle in Laos," both published by Hong Kong's Signal 8 Press.I've also had my hand at ghostwriting, co-penning the autobiography "Jeff Monson: The Way of the Warrior," which was released by Russia's AST in 2018.With a background in theater and comedy, I write not only to inform, but to engage and entertain. I strive for copy is that is crisp, fun and always honest, whether it's a travel narrative, food and drink piece, or commentary on current events.I also bring on-the-ground knowledge of not just South Korea, but East Asia in general. Moving to the other side of the world kindled an excitement in me that continues to burn unabated, and I always aim to deliver this passion through my words.
