I have worked with in situ remedial technologies for my entire 33-year career. Beginning with air-driven techniques in the early nineties, I became impatient with the length of time required to see our goals met on client properties. I had the opportunity to install and operate the first commercial application of six-phase soil heating, more generically known as Electrical Resistance Heating (ERH) in 1996 and have been working with the technology ever since. Meeting project goals within 3 to 6 months of ERH operation is extremely satisfying. I have had the good fortune to improve the installation, operation and implementation of the technology in both minor and major ways. With direct experience in 60 projects and counting, I have assisted in meeting client goals of in situ solvent reductions of over 99% in multiple environments, including active sites, abandoned sites, in vadose zones, saturated zones, clay, silt, sand and sedimentary bedrock. As a Senior Project Manager with TRS, I managed all projects and staff within the Midwest region. In addition to ERH, TRS is now offering thermal conduction heating (TCH) remediation. As Director of Operations, I oversee the implementation of all projects in the U.S. and Europe.
