Provides support to System Engineers 1 & 2, performing field survey work, line relocations and other electric distribution or fiber communication work as needed. Staking of simple projects, progressing to more complex projects. Inputting projects into computer systems using various software packages. Be proficient with permitting with outside entities as needed.Renders assistance to System Engineer I and engineering department on matters related to economical engineering design, work order preparation, and construction. Communicates with all engineering and/or district personnel on matters pertaining to work order processing and construction. Has supervisory/management responsibilities. Communicate with members, construction contractors and other related entities in an effective manner pertaining to Cooperative’s procedures on their request for new service, line relocations, applications, joint-use transfers or attachments, permits, Tennessee one calls and easements. Occasionally assists in and supports other district/area offices as needed.

• Design and management of distribution projects including new overhead and underground lines, line extensions, voltage conversions, conductor upgrades, subdivisions, and industrial parks. • Management of all phases of the construction process including coordination with contractors and assist with inspection of all work completed. • Monitor the construction process to ensure compliance with plans and specifications as well as TVA distributor modification project management. • Regulatory and Permitting: Preparation and filing of the necessary permits and regulatory documentation of all distribution projects. • Easement procurement: Duties include deed research, landowner contact, and easement acquisition. As a State of Tennesee Notary Public, easements are secured and the process managed. Also, provide customer relations throughout the construction process of distribution lines. • Evaluate and approve contractor's invoices.

• Design and field layout of projects involving service to customers including single and three phase for residential, medium-size commercial, and industrial application. • Perform load calculations, select proper size and voltage class for transformers, select proper primary and secondary conductor sizes, and perform motor starting applications. • Prepare construction drawings, staking sheets, and estimate construction cost.
