Chris Wheeldon has a BA of Communications with a double major in Journalism and Advertising. He started working in music in 2005 after a traveling across the US straight out of University. He began as a band manager for local acts and booking small venues and nights, while working part time jobs Chris starting volunteering at RTRFM. Working in the music department and helping the then events manager he began presenting on air and coordinating the local music program on RTRFM, Homegrown and Wednesday Drivetime presenter.Chris began working at RTRFM as the Office Manager in 2011 and over the next 13 years has progressed through various roles including Operations Manager, Drivetime Producer, Fresh Blast Coordinator, Board Secretary and Volunteer Manager. He now is the stations Operations, Events, Marketing and Sales Manager overseeing the operations of the station, over 24 live music events per year, marketing and promotion of the station and the sales and development team. He has also acted as Interim General Manager on three separate occasions mainly over the Covid period and the months following WA lock downs.Outside of RTRFM he sits on the East End Arts Precinct Committee led by Hesperia and volunteers as the main organiser of the Perth Reclink Community Cup as part of his role at RTRFM.
