Working in the Alberta Electricity Industry since 1998 in a wide variety of roles and for three different companies has allowed me to develop considerable knowledge and expertise. I am recognized for my thorough understanding of the market and the breadth of contacts I have developed. My polished communication skills and persuasive style has made me very effective representing organizations in stakeholder consultation, industry work groups and trade associations. Rounding out my background is considerable experience in regulatory proceedings, compliance, analysis and project management.My proven ability to hone in on potential areas for improvement, develop new and/or better ways to move forward and energize others to make meaningful change has led to many achievements, some examples of which I have included below. Industry Consultation: Established and led (for 5 years) the Alberta Reliability Standards User Group (ARSUG), a peer–based industry group with over 50 members representing over 20 companies. ARSUG facilitates the communication of industry concerns and feedback to the AESO and MSA, while reducing consultation and implementation time and expense.Compliance: Improved the visibility and understanding of compliance activities and responsibilities in anticipation of increased compliance scrutiny by AESO and MSA. Assumed responsibility as primary point–of–contact with AESO for internal investigation of incidents, response drafting, internal training and education, external networking and representation.Regulatory Proceedings: Provided witness testimony in AESO General Tariff Application rate hearing. Preparation included application assessment, issue research and analysis, information request development and filing and defense of evidence.
