Responsible for the Engineering Design Group's strategic planning initiatives, designed to provide for technology upgrades and enhancements. Ensured scalability and long-term success with strategic infrastructure upgrades designed to be compliant with industry standards for E-Commerce, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), Business-to-Business (B2B), Office Automation Systems, Database Systems, Production Applications and Management Information Systems. Deployed standards based internetworking applications and protocols in conformance with IETF RFCs, and prevailing industry standards. IT business requirements were coupled with the ability to deploy applications and network services configured in a consistent manner in order to provide what was considered to be an acceptable level of security. Responsible for reviewing and enforcing policies for Engineering Design Group's network operating systems, office automation applications, production software packages, database systems, network access, and Internet security. Managed the configuration and operation of all Information Technology / Systems hardware, software and networking components. Provided day-to-day IT support and facilities management required for these critical information systems. Proactively monitored all systems and network components for abnormal conditions, and provided timely maintenance required to restore systems and fulfill the EDG mission. Designed, installed, configured, and maintained all in house systems: Windows NT 4.0 server and workstations, Exchange 5.5, Microsoft Office 2000 Professional, Cisco routers and Watchguard firewalls, virus protection suites for clients and servers, Windows NT Terminal Server and the Citrix client, remote access servers, and Virtual Private Networks to support PPTP and IPSec.
