I served as Vice Chair for 14 months from 2015-16, and currently work on the delivery of the YLDP and mentoring programmes.As Vice Chair and in my subsequent roles, responsibilities included developing and designing the group's strategic vision, liaising with key stakeholders including Scottish Government, applying for and securing funding for the group, managing a diverse group of around 25 team members to deliver the Young Leaders Development Programme, delivering, managing and presenting at key events, engaging in and responding to Scottish Government policy developments, and engaging with external stakeholders and media.The 2050 Climate Group is a collection of young professionals from across Scotland who share a commitment to supporting Scotland's transformation to a sustainable, low carbon economy. The group consists of a board of 22 trustees, an operational team of over 20 members, and three staff members.Our main piece of work is the Young Leaders Development Programme (YLDP) to engage, educate and empower 130 young people (aged 20-30) each year to take action on climate change within their personal, professional and political spheres of influence.Find more information on www.2050.scot

Based in the Low Carbon Ideas Lab at the Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation, TravelHUB is an online system that makes managing business travel easier, smarter and more sustainable.The problem is that booking travel requires lots of searches on lots of different websites and never shows you the full cost of travel.Our solution is an online tool in which a single search shows all different modes of travel - planes, trains, cars, videoconferencing - and displays the full door-to-door time, cost, carbon emissions, productivity and stress of each of those journeys. The tool manages the booking process, keeps track of where employees are, how much time they're spending on the road, how much productive time is lost through travel, and breaks down the costs of business travel. This allows you to optimise your business's travel, saving costs, time and carbon.

Based in the Low Carbon Ideas Lab at the Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation, Carbon Railcard aims to reduce the carbon emissions of air travel in two ways.1) Incentivising rail by brokering contracts between rail operators and organisations that fly a lot domestically. Rail operators get more customers and in return give certain incentives, such as discounts, a loyalty points system, or free Wi-Fi, to encourage business travellers to choose rail. Efforts at the University of Edinburgh reduced domestic flights between Edinburgh and London by around 10% in its first year.2) Developing a Skyscanner-like tool that compares all modes of transport - planes, trains, cars, even videoconferencing - and shows for each door-to-door journey the cost, the duration of the trip, the carbon emissions of each mode, the productivity available on each mode, and the worker wellbeing, i.e. the stress of the journey. This lets you see all travel options in an easy to understand way and levels the playing field between them. **This project has since morphed into TravelHUB**Winner of the £1000 prize for the Edinburgh Entrepreneurship Club (E Club) Startup Festival Pitching Competition 2016.
