I have 24 years experience at partner and director level, acting for a wide range of quoted, private and not for profit companies. I specialise in providing financial and strategic advice to our medium and larger corporate clients alongside the provision of audit services and I am the Senior Director of our Southampton office. My recent experience includes advising on acquisitions and disposals, succession planning and group reorganisations.My client portfolio includes a significant element of entrepreneurial businesses in the IT communications, construction, manufacturing, leisure and property sectors as well as extensive engagement with the charity and social housing sectors. I regularly act as lead director, taking primary responsibility for the relationship with our larger clients and coordinating the various services we provide.International work forms a significant part of my client focus, and I make full use of the strength and resources of Nexia International, our international network.I am Chairman of Nexia Smith & Williamson, the audit arm of the Smith & Williamson group.I am currently on the board of Bournemouth University. For six years I was a non-executive director of the UK Atomic Energy Authority where I chaired the Audit Committee. I have also acted as a director of Bournemouth Orchestras and a director of the Dorset Chamber of Commerce and Industry.I joined Smith & Williamson from Coopers & Lybrand in 1993.
