Profile bio

About Chris Atzbach

I was raised in a rural farming community where I had jobs since I was nine years old and was very active in sports through college; thus, have almost always known the importance of teamwork and to never take the next paycheck for granted by making sure I’m always appreciated and always show appreciation for others. I am now a difference-making senior leader whose specialty is helping operations achieve maximum profitability. During my 18 years at Cardinal Health, annual revenue increased from $40B to $140B, which continually afforded opportunities to expand my technical skills, leadership, and business acumen. My leadership style is understanding that not every relationship or situation can be managed the same; rather, I utilize adaptability and flexibility in tailoring my style as necessary to achieve the end goal. While this enables me to effectively communicate to all levels of an organization, I’ve also maintained the work-ethic, humility, and technical know-how to roll up my sleeves when leadership alone won’t suffice. One constant in my approach is maintaining the right balance of exercising discipline to ensure continual value is provided to the broader organization, while also providing a light-hearted, family-like atmosphere to ensure all know I recognize them as individuals first, company employees second.I am often referred to as the “systems guy” by finance & accounting colleagues because of the large number of Kaizens, integrations, upgrades, and enhancements on which I partner with IT and other functional areas. I am passionate and able to fully comprehend a complex spider-web of antiquated systems and applications. I believe it is important for an organization, especially one that is highly matrixed, to have a Subject Matter Expert to help the various teams’ bridge gaps in their understanding of inter-dependencies.My main motivations are using my ‘whatever-it-takes’ approach in helping others in any way possible and being a valued member of a collaborative environment. My niche has always been the hunger to continually improve – myself, others, and, especially, profitability. While this was true well before I was exposed to Lean Six Sigma, it has further bolstered my collaboration, problem-solving, and enthusiasm for results.I'm confident my skills, knowledge, leadership, and humility will similarly enable me to make immediate, valuable, and lasting contributions in my next endeavor!

Listed skills include Problem Solving, Process Improvement, Cost Saving Initiatives, Financial Reporting, and 19 others.
