We took 9 months to roast our first 60kgs of coffee. A year after inception we moved into our first cafe and HQ in Kinross. Two years later we purchased a small coffee shop in Stirling. Both are now two of the main places to go for coffee north of Edinburgh. Our business has been growing every year, even through the pandemic, demonstrating strength of the underlying business. We are broken into 3 business segments - Cafes (1+2), Wholesale and Online. Each function independently but work towards the total business goals. Each segment is growing rapidly and has nearly unlimited further potential growth. Fast forward to 2021 and onwards and we are featured in Olive Magazine as one of the best coffee roasters in the UK alongside Caravan Coffee Roasters - one of our London based idols.Running my own company has kick started an incredible learning curve. I had to create everything from the bottom up: brand, logo, designing packaging, ordering raw coffee, working machinery, creating business accounts, VAT, choosing price points and website design. Qualified with CIMA and promoted to Analyst continuing in the Cash role. Main achievement was completion and implementation of a project to align account code structures across Sky to halve the volume of month end commentary submissions required, saving many hours for Finance Analysts across Sky.

Responsibilities include preparation of the Group Statement of Consolidated Cash Flows on a monthly basis for inclusion in the monthly Board meetings and on a quarterly basis, for statutory reporting. All finance teams across Sky (c40) submit working capital/cash forecasts which are then used to create a short, mid and long term cash forecast which the Directors and CFO use for decision making. The key focus is to reach full year and half year cash targets. The Technology department is at the core of Sky and ensures smooth running of customer facing systems. Contracts for key departments such as Broadcast, New Projects, Innovations and Software Engineering are all managed within Technology. I was responsible for management reporting for several cost centres, forecasting, budgeting and cost analysis. I also managed a database of hardware and software contracts used across Sky which had an annual P&L value of £35m.
