Practice areas included commercial contracting, appropriation law, constitutional law, regulatory compliance, employment law, real estate law and employment law. Provided counsel to Members of Congress and staff of relevant government ethics rules and election law. - Legal oversight of contracting and procurement functions, developing and approving in excess of $300 million annually for both technology support and service contracts with private sector firms utilizing both government contracting principles (FAR/DFAR) and private sector commercial law. - Reviewed and negotiated a broad range of complex technology contracts to include Software as a Service contracts (SaaS) and End User License Agreements (EULA). - Cybersecurity Counsel for the House of Representatives. Work in concert with the Chief Privacy Officer and Chief Information Security Officer to secure the House’s computer network. Strong understanding of the regulatory environment and cybersecurity laws and regulations including liability under CA Consumer Privacy Act, EU General Data Protection Regulation and other cybersecurity regulations. Worked with federal law enforcement in the event of data breaches or spillage and investigations.- Managed a portfolio of over 1,000 commercial real estate leases used by Members of Congress as district offices nationwide. - Managed outside counsel for litigation and compliance support. (See Brewster v. Sun Trust, 742 F.3d 876 (2014).)
