In this position, I balanced multiple concurrent projects while overseeing the daily operations of the lab, training of personnel, and ensuring lab safety. • Utilized a gnotobiotic mouse model of Crohn’s Disease to study the contribution of genetic variants of pathobiont E. coli in the microbiome to the development of inflammation and fibrosis.• Characterized the secretion of bacterial siderophores, and their metal binding affinities, using UHPLC-ESI-Orbitrap mass spectrometry and ICP-MS after purification using offline reverse phase chromatography and HPLC. • Performed comparative bacterial genome analyses to identify potential causes of inflammation and fibrosis.• Established collaborations with research groups in Chemistry and Pharmacology to facilitate studies on colorectal cancer and mechanisms of antibiotic resistance.
