Worked in a medium-sized group developing highly customized solutions in the Trade Finance industry and delivering those solutions to the top most tier in the banking industry. The software was a Spring/Hibernate/Struts-based Java web application run on Websphere, JBoss, or vanilla Tomcat supported by batch processing and data migration utilities. The applications were tightly integrated with the customers’ user portals via SSO and web services, with their backends via file feeds and APIs, and can connect to most major database engines. The UI was JSP-based, localized in 8 foreign languages, and built on open source technologies with Javascript used throughout. This delivered a very modern user experience to end-users who have become accustomed to green screens in their day-to-day, but are now able to utilize the rich experience akin to their personal web activities to better perform their work functions. Daily activities and projects of note included:• Forward development of application for 4 customers• Meeting with the customers’ business and technical teams to design solutions• Working with the customers’ technical teams to triage production issues• Providing go-live, post go-live, and client migration support• Development lead of a tool to extract text from our application to be translated by a 3rd party which is then loaded back into our application with minimal manual effort• Development lead of a migration utility to move data from customers’ legacy systems into our application which is currently in use in multiple customers’ production environments• Development lead of an API providing functionality to our customers which allows them to write their own batch processes to handle their clients’ data needs while allowing our developers to focus on the main application• Traveled to Singapore to support an important development cycle with one of our customers
