Head of communications and marketing since January 2020 at the Autry, an institution with the mission to tell the diverse stories of the American West. Led internal and external communications, public relations, and marketing strategies. Served as writer/editor of mission-aligned materials, including press releases, talking points, letters, and speeches for senior leadership. Conducted rapid-response and crisis communications. Worked with state and local government officials on public affairs projects and initiatives.

Launched and directed all aspects of AndACTION (andaction.org) - a grant-supported initiative of Spitfire Strategies that connects nonprofits to upcoming, issue-oriented film and TV storylines. Worked with entertainment industry stakeholders (including Disney, HBO, IFC Films, CBS and NBC) and nonprofit partners (including ACLU, Southern Poverty Law Center and Rock the Vote) to leverage film and television storylines for social good. Represented program at social change and industry functions. Wrote blogs, articles, website content, social media campaign copy, and managed staff and freelance writers. Cultivated funders and wrote/stewarded grant applications. Oversaw build and launch of website, allowing nonprofits to search for film and TV storylines on important social and environmental issues. Managed all aspects of three-continent (U.S., Nigeria, India) network of centers for health and development entertainment education. Worked with television producers and filmmakers in Bollywood and Nollywood to incorporate behavior change communication in popular media in India and Nigeria. Oversaw research and development of data-driven storylines on family planning, vaccination and maternal and child health topics. Identified and worked with in-country evaluation partners in order to conduct longitudinal in-person surveys. Worked in-country to oversee in-person surveys in urban, periurban and rural Uttar Pradesh, India. Traveled to Lagos, Nigeria and Johannesburg, South Africa to lead stakeholder summit, work with filmmakers and build network of partners. Traveled to India five times over course of project. Planned and participated in large events and writers workshop in India and Australia. Formerly “Global Centers for Health & Development.”

Directed consultations for the on-air programs and/or provided content for the official websites and social media outlets of shows including Grey’s Anatomy, House M.D., Law & Order: SVU, Army Wives, Private Practice, Parenthood, Mercy and Off the Map. Extensive grant-writing and deliverables reporting.

Collected data and built interactive database of faculty research profiles to accurately match faculty with federal and corporate research grants.
