About Chris Avis

For more than 25 years, I have worked in the computing technology industry as a systems operator, technical support, technology trainer and Evangelist. My most recent "tech" job was as a technical presenter contracted to the Microsoft Azure Cloud Collaboration Center (CCC) through Prowess Consulting. My primary function was to create and deliver technical presentations on Microsoft Azure to C-level executives, Directors, and IT implementers. More specifically, how does Microsoft scale technology and automation to manage the massive, global Azure fabric. Additionally, I created "train the trainer" content to prep subject matter experts for customer facing presentations. As a Microsoft FTE, I spent 13 years as a Senior Technology Evangelist speaking to business and technical decision makers about how Microsoft technologies worked, and how they could solve customer problems. My focus area was on Hybrid Cloud implementations using Windows Azure IaaS and Windows Server. I also work extensively with Hyper-V and many of the System Center management applications. Having worked as a technologist for Microsoft for over 25 years, I have been exposed to many of the mainstream servers and server applications Microsoft has delivered since 1994. From Windows 95 to Windows 11 and Windows NT 3.51 to Windows Server 2019. I have also supported Exchange, Threat Management Gateway, Hyper-V, the and the System Center stack.I enjoy learning and talking about all types of technologies from mobile and wearable computing, to hardware, to the cloud.I also own and operate a mobile entertainment business - Feel Good Productions - that focuses on providing regular weekly karaoke programs for bars, clubs and venues in the Greater Seattle Metro area. Since 2010, we have delivered more than 15,000 karaoke programs and helped bring in net new patrons and drive increased sales at more than 30 bars in the area. We currently run more than 26 karaoke and trivia shows every week across 19 bars. We also provide DJ and MC services for private events such as birthdays, weddings, graduations, school dances, corporate events and more.
