My responsibilities at Perth Glory were centred around the provision of membership information and packs. This role required regular internal discussions about the direction of the club in terms of its membership and its marketing to the wider footballing community. This role continued my work in dealing with internal and external stakeholders and required me to work to tight deadlines in a high pressure environment. I have also been involved in acquiring and managing CRM systems within the club to best enhance the communication between the club and its members. In season 2012/13, I exceeded several sales targets and in the process set new records in membership revenue and membership numbers for the first time in the clubs history.

This involved regular meetings with key stakeholders from both industry and government which provided me with firsthand experience in dealing with various economic portfolios including the Departments of Industry, Innovation, Science and Research; Resources, Energy, Tourism; and Treasury.Additional responsibilities included the drafting of Comments and Dissenting Reports on various Bills as they pass through the committee system. This provided me with an in-depth understanding of the processes of Government, examination of departmental and industry submissions, stakeholder relations and management, and the interaction with Government from initial consultation through to the passage of legislation.

This included Question Time briefs, Contentious Issues briefing packs, speeches and the tabling of documents. As a result, I was regularly required to assess work in terms of deadlines and priorities which could change in a matter of minutes, hours or days depending on what was happening. Part of this process was working with departmental staff to ensure that there was a mutual understanding of expectations from both sides.Additional duties included dealing with constituent enquiries and Freedom of Information Act applications, among a variety of other duties.

My duties included holding 2, 1 hour tutorial sessions every week, marking student assessments, holding consultation hours every week and being an invigilator for mid-semester exams. When I completed my honours degree and was no longer required at the university for this employment, I received positive feedback from my superiors as well as from my students - a small number of whom I remain in touch with today.
