As a result, my project had an estimated holding cost savings of $5M over the next 2 years, while ensuring adequate inventory levels preventing stock outs.Additionally, I assisted in the freight forwarder rate negotiations by providing internal data for leverage. In my analysis, I discovered $200k in opportunities for our freight forwarder that resulted in rate reductions for the new contract.

I was able to learn about global logistics strategy and supply chain competencies in the Biotech industry.

At Meritor, I worked in the Air Systems product management group, assisting with the management of $141M of yearly revenue.Some responsibilities with this position include:-Facilitate product launches of new parts, which includes:1.) Developing a Project Initiative Task List, laying out all the steps of the project and the target completion date of all the steps.2.) Conducting product research to determine specs, applications, and possible competitors for the product.3.) Adding products to all Information System databases, such as Oracle.4.) Develop a business plan that includes product pricing/margin targets, vendor agreements, inventory forecasting, and marketing materials to present to both internal and external parties.-Develop customer analysis using sales data involving YoY sales, part numbers purchased, and sales between product groups. Interpret data, then present findings to management to determine sales plan to increase revenue.-Analyze previous year promotion sales statistics, sales team feedback (based on surveys), and customer feedback to determine upcoming sales promotion details. Improvements include changes to part number offerings, inventory targets, pricing, and target customers.-Research sales history to determine opportunities and present findings to management. Including percentages of part specs, yearly/quarterly revenues, product group trends, and more differentiators that can be analyzed.-Lead weekly meetings with Product Managers to review fiscal year task list initiatives, leading to a 4.5% target growth in AOP for the Air Systems product line.
New Model Co-Op
At Honda, I was in charge of planning and coordinating Logistics for a new model prototype build. These responsibilities included:-Collecting quotes from transportation companies to find a company that could fulfill our needs-Deciding which company to contract, and negotiate the terms and responsibilities of the project-Preparing transportation schedules, based off the manufacturing schedules that each department Project Leader provided-Leading all logistics activity for the project, including: overseeing crating of parts, storage capacity at each plant, dock usage at each plant, timing of deliveries, hours of operation for truck driver and passenger, confidentiality requirements from outside employees, and more-Coordinating meetings with outside companies, discussing the project and what the needs and requirements are for that companyI had many accomplishments at Honda. For example, while analyzing the transportation quote from an outside company, I found $101,544 in cost reduction opportunities. I did this by analyzing the quote, and communicating with the Customer Service Manager. Examples of cost reductions were: shorter driver hours, distance estimated per day, passengers needed/unneeded (for strapping/crating reasons), semi-truck trailer type, and finding costs that were already accounted for in other Honda contracts with the same company.
