As a project manager, I've successfully led five major initiatives in the Umzimvubu river catchment. These projects include the Tsitsa Project, Drakensberg Su-escarpment Herding for Health Carbon Project, Nedbank-WWF Green Trust Water Security Project, DFFE-NRM Working for Water Project, and Social Employment Fund Early Childhood Development Programme.My responsibilities include catchment-scale restoration and natural resource management planning, stakeholder convening, and facilitation of the co-development processes. I'm also responsible for leading local participant capacity development activities, providing strategic oversight of project operations, and ensuring that technical planning and implementation of support are delivered to a high standard.In addition, I play a key role in donor engagements and reporting, ensuring that our projects meet the required standards and exceed expectations. With a passion for sustainable development and a commitment to achieving tangible results, I'm proud to have made a positive impact on the Umzimvubu river catchment and the communities that rely on it.

I am a proud member of the uMzimvubu Catchment Partnership (UCP), a society-driven collaborative effort of state, NGO, and private sector role-players dedicated to restoring and preserving the uMzimvubu catchment, a special place that faces multiple drivers of degradation and social injustice.As a UCP chairperson, I am responsible for leading and facilitating meetings, setting and implementing strategic directions, promoting the partnership, building relationships, ensuring accountability and compliance, managing conflicts, and motivating partnership members. My goal is to support the partnership's mission of restoring and maintaining the ecological infrastructure of the catchment through communal custodianship, and by piloting innovative Community Based Natural Resource Management (CBNRM) land care approaches.The UCP recognizes the catchment's potential to provide a wide range of ecosystem services to sustain the livelihoods of the surrounding and downstream communities. To achieve this, we convene catchment partners such as funders, strategic partners, research institutions, implementers, catchment stewards (communities, traditional leadership, CBOs), local government departments, and municipalities to work together towards this common vision. Our partnership's focus on restoration and maintenance of ecological infrastructure through communal custodianship is driven by the desire to ensure the sustainability of the ecosystem's services for future generations.
