Academic by training, acrobat at heart - After being a gymnast for nearly 25 years, I joined Cirque du Soleil as an artist right after completing my PhD in machine learning in 2014. Since then, I've been a head coach and consultant for Cirque du Soleil, entertained some independent research projects, built out a van to travel and teach handstands, and coached at a circus school. I'm currently working for CRITAC, the research center at the National Circus School in Montreal where my work consists of a variety of activities related to data analysis, motion capture, biomechanics, machine learning, and human performance in circus. While very dynamic acrobatics may be in my past, handbalancing remains an endless fascination in many ways.
