Elucidated the genetic structure of the parasitic smut fungus Sporisorium ellisii and its relationship on the host Andropogon virginicus, a perennial, early successional grass found throughout the eastern United States. Genetic fingerprinting of S. ellisii was achieved with well-published ISSR methodology for the study of similar organisms.

Identified and evaluated peripheral blood marker candidates for early identification of refractory/relapsing classical Hodgkin Lymphoma (RR-cHL). Biomarker targets selected/identified by bioinformatic analysis of the NCI Cancer Gene Index and annotated/validated via further algorithmic analysis were screened for qualitative and quantitative gene expression levels within HL tumor cell lines derived from poor outcome patients.
