I am best known for my early career in international level athletics, and later for working with and coaching athletes who have broken world records, and/or won Olympic and Paralympic gold medals. Teams I have been involved with have become the best in the world and the coaches developed under my tutorage are now producing many of Australia’s best athletes. I have also travelled extensively throughout the Pacific region developing strategies for sustained organisational improvement.I now specialise in training leaders and managers to understand their staff and develop strategies to enhance productivity and increase workplace engagement. I have qualifications in elite coaching, a Diploma in Leadership Coaching and Mentoring, a Bachelor of Education and have worked in this field for almost 30 years across numerous sporting organisations, where clients ranged from developing novices to elite performers.I was awarded an OAM for my service to people with disabilities. In the work I do now, I see organisations struggle with four main problems:1. A lack of clarity with an organisation's vision 2. A lack of engagement by employees3. A lack of understanding of the manner in which people improve 4. A lack of mentoring systems which facilitate the transfer of knowledge from experienced and skilled employees to those new to positions or new to the organisation.By providing group training or personal coaching I am able to take people through a series of sessions, so they:1. Identify the “blockages” within an organisation 2. Understand why these blockages occur3. Provide strategies for staff to develop and progress4. Implement a system for monitoring and the provision of feedback.My greatest satisfaction comes from the growth and development individuals experience as they strive for personal growth and contribute more to an organisation than they previously thought possible.
