Profile bio

About Chris Laufale

Working with the New Government to create New Zealand's Public Safety Network (PSN) communications capability (the equivalent of the US First Net and UK Emergency Services Network). I represent St John's and ambulance sector interests, working as a collective with the other major emergency services - NZ Police, Fire and Emergency NZ (FENZ), plus Wellington Free Ambulance (WFA). As the St John EPCR programme manager, successfully implemented a national implementation and seamless rollout of the Electronic Patient Report Form (ePRF) in New Zealand for the Emergency Ambulance Sector (St John and Wellington Free Ambulance). All of this was done within extreme timeframes and had no impact on ambulance service or operations. The programme was transformational to the sector going from paper-based records to electronic data. EPRF is an enabler for better health outcomes for New Zealanders by joining the health sector to become one virtual clinical team allowing the sector to reflect societial clinical needs via data mining and analysis. I have national and regional board-level experience with a particular passion for volunteering. Am still actively involved working in leadership roles supporting not-for-profit organisations and their volunteers (St John NZ and Coastguard NZ). I also volunteer with Victim Support New Zealand, supporting New Zealanders affected by crime and trauma. A PMI-and PRINCE 2 Foundation / Practitioner trained projects manager with extensive track record and experience managing successful large-scale, state, national, global projects and programmes primarily for blue-chip conglomerates (IBM, AT&T, EDS, Singtel Optus, Telecom NZ, and charities - St John Ambulance).Particular strengths within the fields of Project and Programme Management, IT, Change Management, Telecommunications, Disaster Recovery (DR), Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Emergency Response. Additional strengths:- Proven strong facilitation and negotiation skills- Approachable straight forward communicator- Experienced and skilled in strategic thinking with awards within St John, EDS, AT&T, and IBM.- Leadership and management role experience (virtual, matrix, and global teams of 100+)- Registered Paramedic - Trained to work in life-threatening conditions (Trauma, Medical and dangerous scenarios) managing situations and leading emergency staff/patients to successful outcomes.Objectives:- To use my hands-on leadership, planning, organisational skills in a transformational program role that will make a meaningful difference in our communities.

Listed skills include Program Management, Change Management, Project Delivery, Integration, and 44 others.
