Through my role as Vice President of AIR INC, I contribute to transportation and environmental justice advocacy campaigns in and around the Metro Boston region.A long term advocacy project, the Airport Impact Relief work has led me into multiple rewarding disciplines. I have built a strong base of community engagement experience while working on the many advocacy campaigns with AIR INC. I have produced a feature documentary on the airport / community relationship (Destination: East Boston), and I have planned and managed numerous open space development campaigns and health research projects. For me, this work is about achievement, not just for me, but for our region via productive partnership and collaborative planning.

At Bunker Hill, as in all of my coaching endeavors, I strive to provide training and structure for pitchers. This work is often more about mentoring young people in the need and responsibility both to the team and to themselves, in self-investment.

As Director of Community Building and Environment, I put my extensive community engagement, youth development, campaign management, and public interest research and management skills to work, creating change in numerous community environmental advocacy projects ranging from federal airport advocacy campaigns to local waterfront access initiatives.

As Field Manager for the Youth Conservation Corps, I mentored 4 Site Supervisors in youth leadership development and the YCC program. Together, we created rewarding educational public open space improvement programs in which local teenagers could serve to create positive change in their communities.

Working with the Boston Natural Areas Network provided a great opportunity to get to know wonderful young people from my community. As their supervisor, I had the chance to teach them about the history of community activism and vision in East Boston.I structured their summer work to provide them a hands on experience in creating change. Beginning with a Good / Bad Survey, in which the Youth walked the neighborhood writing down anything they saw as either good or bad, we discussed what it means to have a personal vision. Armed with our own expectations of what we wanted to see, we then applied that vision to the East Boston Greenway. ...Whatever didn't look the way we wanted it to look, we changed! This work was tremendously rewarding for me. The Youth were happy and worked like dogs and when they were done, the Greenway looked as good as the Bremen Street Park ( a Massport managed park which is professionally groomed)
