I am a postgraduate student at the University of Exeter currently pursuing a PhD in Biosciences, with my research focusing on characterising the risks of pharmaceuticals in the environment to fish. I obtained my BPharm degree and MSc in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the North-West University (Potchefstroom, South Africa) with distinction. I also have working experience in both the community and institutional pharmacy, but pride myself on my research.My skill set includes organic chemical synthesis, radioligand binding assays and data analyses (NMR, MS, DSC, HPLC). I am an eager learner with a broad range of interests ranging from photography to medicine. With regards to research, I aim to focus on the areas of analytical/pharmaceutical chemistry and ecotoxicology. Finally, I have a special place in my heart for the natural world and, through my research, aspire to make a difference in animal health.
