I worked in a team on a project developing and piloting a new intervention to improve psychiatrist-patient communication about psychosis. My role involved recruitment of psychiatrists to the training programme, and the recruitment of schizophrenic patients from their outpatient clinics. I took a lead role in the data collection, including assessment of patients (using the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale for Schizophrenia), administering questionnaires with patients and psychiatrists, and video recording consultations. I performed qualitative and quantitative analyses of this data, and assisted in writing up the final paper. I take part in department training three times weekly, and worked on other projects, including a study of patient-centredness and shared-decision making in psychiatric consultations.

I worked as an Assistant Psychologist in the Older People's Psychology Service. saw 4 patients weekly on a 1:1 basis with anxiety, depression or OCD using exposure and response prevention and CBT. I ran and co-facilitated 3 groups: a carers course, a memory strategies course, and a group providing cognitive stimulation for patients with young onset dementia. I performed neuropsychological assessments of cognitive function in the Memory Clinic. I wrote up and fed back the outcomes of these assessments. I ran 2 audit projects pertaining to NICE guidelines and assisting in another. I collated and organised all outcome measures for our service. I frequently took part in multidisciplinary team meetings and I assisted and support the Clinical Psychologists in their work. I also worked on a research study exploring the predictors of IAPT practitioners to use self-help CBT materials. This involved setting up a survey on surveymonkey, data collection, input, management and analysis, as well as reviewing and editing the paper.

I was a support worker on Acorn Lodge Children's inpatient unit at the Royal Bethlem Hospital. I worked within a multidisciplinary team to provide a therapeutic environment for working 1:1 with children between the ages of 4-12 with mental health difficulties. I co-facilitated two groups: the "Children's Meeting", which was a chance for the children to speak to an advocate, and the "thoughts and feelings" group, which took techniques from systemic therapy help clients with their relationships.
