I am an experienced multimedia archivist and digital asset manager specializing in digitizing and managing collections of artistic, historical and documentary multimedia. My talents can be seen across leading institutions and organizations, including AARP Studios, the New York City Department of Records & Information Services, StoryCorps, the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, Miami-Dade College Wolfson Archives and XFR Collective. I enjoy leading teams on processing and digitization projects of large scale multi-format collections, making them more accessible and usable for the public and production teams. I also have a passion for emerging and evolving media production technology, grassroots journalism, and visual advocacy, combined with an unwavering dedication to designing effective solutions for complex technical problems and projects that spotlight under-appreciated and overlooked content. Throughout my career, I have had the unique opportunity of honing my professional skills and earning the reputation of a highly-regarded subject matter expert while participating as a socially conscious citizen. My work as an archivist has given me a deep understanding of digital multimedia standards and countless opportunities to manage projects and staff. Furthermore, I have excellent technical troubleshooting skills, as I have designed and implemented many analog video and audio digitization labs. While many of my projects are self-driven, I frequently interact with diverse researchers, clients, project stakeholders, team members, and subordinates to accomplish ambitious goals. To strengthen my expertise, I stay abreast of the latest digital trends with a deep understanding of end-to-end multimedia preservation, editing, codecs, formatting for distribution, and content optimization for social media. In addition to my hands-on experience and skill attainment, I have a solid educational background with a Masters in Moving Image Archiving and Preservation from New York University and a dual B.A. in History and Humanities from the University of Oregon. I continued my education by completing Wisconsin-Madison University's Digital Asset Management program. As a recognized expert in my field, I have lectured at multiple academic and professional organizations, including Toronto University, Adelphi University, Pratt University, the Association of Moving Image Archivists, the Archivist Round Table, and the Special Library Association of New York, to share information about my work, lessons learned, and what lies ahead.
