Christopher Oak is a Senior Aviation Product Manager at TWC at The Weather Company. He possess expertise in meteorology, weather forecasting, fortran, weather, quality assurance and 24 more skills. Colleagues describe him as "Embracing a distributed Agile team of software engineers while integrating a quality team within that is not for the faint of heart. And especially so with an application as complex as the one Chris was responsible for. He began by designing a detailed and integrated training session for the distributed and local team in one location. This face to face meeting allowed deep understanding of the application and ensured the developers and the QA team would mesh and communicate freely. This was not by chance as one of Chris' great strengths is frequent and substantive communication that leads to efficient testing and productivity. Even in the midst of resources transitioning Chris provided the mature thought leadership to deliver on the continuity while still delivering on release dates. " and "Chris can be relied upon to deliver fast and thorough testing results that go beyond simply meeting requirements. He looks at problems from multiple perspectives to get the best grasp on identifying problems and potential solutions. Chris also has exceptional organization, time management, and leadership skills which he exhibited while serving a dual roll as both SQA and Scrum Master for our development team. With this combination of attributes, talent, and integrity, it would be a mistake to overlook Chris as a potential candidate for any fitting position."

Environmental Field TechEnsr Jun 2008 - May 2009Worked on site specific groundwater gauging and sampling events for clients. This included using whale, bladder, and peristaltic pumps. Troubleshoot field issues as they arose and report back to project managers as needed. Took soil samples and classified different types of soils in a core while measuring for volatile compounds. During the Summer, I worked on a Department of Conservation and Recreation illicit discharge project that identifies and reports illegal discharges in storm water drainage systems. Duties include working within a team of environmental engineers to locate, identify and record infrastructure data points and input them via a mobile GPS unit with ARCGIS. Within our team we had 3-4 people that would rotate between field work and in office assignments. Teamwork in the field required opening catch basins and manholes to make measurements of inverts on pipes and taking samples if needed. Office assignments included quality assurance of the data and producing maps of areas that needed attention drawn to them. This work is to help DCR come into compliance with new guidelines requiring them to make sure no dumping is occurring in their storm water infrastructure. If work was contracted out to other companies, often would have to be on site to monitor work and make sure job was done at a high level of quality and finished in a prompt manner. Job requirement of being 40 hour OSHA trained. -

For these classes I held review sessions and tutored individuals outside of the main classroom. Also responsible for grading homework and issuing grades. -
Software Quality Assurance InternWsi Corporation Jun 2006 - Jun 2008While at Weather Services International, I worked as a software quality assurance engineer on 3 different projects in the company. For about 1 year and 2 months I worked on a combination of two projects called PowerBridge and PowerStream. PowerBridge is a data transfer and conversion program that accessed source files created at WSI, converted them into client specified formats and sent them downstream to PowerStream. PowerStream then organized the newly converted files and played them on Digital TV on clients networks via specified schedules. My main duties on PowerBridge was to work closely with the sole software developer for the program and to find, resolve and verify bugs in the program. I executed test plans for the program which I had a major role in writing. I reported to my manager via weekly reports and meetings to update on the status of the project and to request advice if needed. My main duties on PowerStream included reproducing client specific issues that were encountered in the field and to present them to peers in order to find solutions. I worked closely with customer service representatives to test multiple software builds of this product to make sure no regressions were encountered. This required running regression tests often in Microsoft Word and Excel formats. For the remaining 10 months I worked on a project called Fusion. This program was an aviation solution that would digest flight plan data and plot aircraft positions in a customized user interface. My main SQA responsibilities were to work with a team of other SQA engineers to search the program for possible bugs, verify resolved bug issues, and execute test plans when ready to declare a release candidate software build.
