I am an information security expert with more than 35 years of experience in the IT sector ranging from software engineering assignments to both information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) security consultancy, management and staff roles. I have acquired a sound knowledge and broad experience in a wide spectrum of security topics during the past 30 years. Due to my technical background, and as a graduated software engineer, I have a strong affinity with technology. Over the years I performed consultancy assignments sectors like financial services, industry / manufacturing, utilities, telecommunications, space, government. The assignments included topics such as security architecture, risk analysis, threat & vulnerability assessment, identity & access management, public key infrastructure and policy development (ISMS). I also acquired experience as a manager of a team of IT security experts and as an IT Security Officer. I have strong technical writing skills and I am able to communicate my view in clear wordings. I am well aware of current security frameworks like ISO-27000, SABSA, SOx, PCI DSS, ISAE-3000/3402, IEC-63443. I am able to cope with the sensitivity in the relationship between IT and business / product marketing / sales.
