Chris Pack is a sensory and spatial anthropologist turned producer, writer, educator, and social entrepreneur. They’ve traveled globally researching storytelling, music, cuisine, race, and reconciliation. Chris is a production and business development consultant with companies integrating advanced technologies and storytelling. They are collaborating with Belize and other countries to develop their film industry and incentive legislation. They’ve led screenwriting workshops like “Adapting Belizean Stories to Screenplays” at the Belize International Film Festival, and “Writing VR” for the Scriptwriters Network. They are in active development of multiple scripted and non-scripted shows. Chris produced and managed four seasons of HGTV’s hit show, Island Hunters. Chris’ productions have spanned 30+ countries around the world, airing on networks such as Bravo, Lifetime, Style, FOX, USA, TLC, History, MTV, E!, Comedy Central, Discovery, and OWN. Chris is Co-Chair of the PGA National Employment Committee and Advisory Board member for the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce Hollywood. A 9-year-old selectively mute Mayan boy guards a nest of endangered Yellow-Headed Parrots in the pine savannah of Belize. His beloved older brother returns from the city and the boy discovers he's in debt and has turned to poaching - setting the brothers on a collision course.“Yochi” was filmed in the jungle and pine savannah of western Belize by cinematographer Robert Dugan and edited by David Morales. Featuring a full Belizean cast of first time actors, “Yochi” stars Evan Martinez and Kerry Johan Landero who plays the lead, Yochi. Yochi is a US-Belizean co-production between Yochi Film LLC and YoungStarr Entertainment. “Yochi” is a film about connection, finding your voice, and protecting what is most sacred to you,” said Lapid. “Yochi” puts a human face on the global poaching crisis. The film does not judge, but rather encourages dialogue about the underlying social and economic factors that fuel the illegal wildlife trade.” Global populations of endangered Yellow-Headed Parrots have declined over 90% since the 1970s, due to poaching and deforestation.
