Performed a wide variety of compliance-related tasks, in addition to the preparation of W-2 forms and individual tax returns, during my internship at EY.Compliance Review: As part of my role, I was tasked with reviewing Global Bill Transactions charged to the clients. This involved carefully examining financial transactions and financial data to ensure they complied with relevant regulations, company policies, and legal requirements. My attention to detail and understanding of compliance procedures helped in identifying any discrepancies or irregularities in the billing process. Additionally, I was responsible for maintaining and managing the company's database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of transactions and client information. Individual Tax Return Preparation: I gained hands-on experience in preparing individual tax returns, focusing on two specific forms: 1040 Form and 1040 NR Form. These forms are used to report personal income and deductions for U.S. citizens and non-residents, respectively. My responsibilities included gathering relevant financial information from clients, analyzing their income sources, deductions, and credits, and accurately completing the required forms. My attention to detail and understanding of tax regulations enabled me to identify potential deductions and credits that could benefit clients. W-2 Form Preparation and Compensation Reporting: Another crucial aspect of my internship involved the preparation of W-2 forms and compensation reports. W-2 forms are used by employers to report employees' wages and tax withholding information to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). I was responsible for accurately allocating compensation data, including salaries, bonuses, benefits, and withholdings, to the appropriate W-2 forms. My diligence in ensuring accurate data entry and understanding of tax laws helped in generating precise W-2 forms for employees, facilitating the smooth filing of their tax returns.
