Chris Ripley has more than 40+ years of business experience in various industries. For his first 20 years, he worked in the retail sector, starting in Macy’s executive training program and working his way up to Divisional Vice President and General Manager of a $55 million store. In his second act, he founded the Strategic Marketing Group, working with hundreds of small businesses to help them get better results from their marketing and advertising.Today, in his third act, Chris is an assistant professor in the Business Department at the College of Southern Maryland. After 16 years as an adjunct professor, he decided to teach full-time. He teaches a variety of topics, including Marketing, Human Resources, Business Strategy, Communications, and several others. He’s the faculty advisor to the Kappa Beta Delta (KBD) Business Honor Society, an accreditation advisor for the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), and a course coordinator for the Introduction to Business, Business Math, and Introduction to Marketing courses. He is also an adjunct associate professor at the University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC), teaching various human resource classes.Chris earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of Virginia and received his M.S. in Management from the University of Maryland University College. He is an active member of the Charles County Chamber of Commerce, a regular driver for Meals-on-Wheels, the past president of the Kiwanis Club of La Plata, Maryland, and former president of the Board of Directors of the United Way of Charles County.
