As the Survey Supervisor I led a team of power line surveyors in completing preliminary design and construction staking of overhead and underground power lines. I liaised with engineering design and project managers to ensure projects were completed to customer and design specifications while maintaining schedule and budget. Project responsibilities included working with field and office staff to plan and manage survey projects, prepare project estimates and ensure the quality of all project deliverables. Leadership responsibilities included working with team members to develop and implement standards as well as set and achieve performance goals, while maintaining a high standard of safety. Working with Distribution Operations I acted as the Supervisor on call, after hours and weekends, for 1 week periods on a rotational basis. As the Supervisor on Call I was responsible for assisting Power Line Technicians with incident reporting, accessing additional resources when required and monitoring safe work practices and hours of work.

As the Survey Drafting/Calculations Supervisor I developed and led a new team of calculating and drafting technologists responsible for completing survey row and 3rd party crossing drawings as well as delivering engineering project data. I liaised with engineering design, project managers and land administration to ensure drawings were completed to customer, design and land administration requirements. I lead and directed field staff in design requirements as well as survey standards and practices. Key responsibilities were, confirming the survey requirements of a project, maintaining the project schedule, checking field work for compliance with design and survey standards, completing all calculations and submitting finished project to engineering design.

As a Power Line Survey Technologist - Team Lead I led a two person field crew in designing and staking distribution power lines. I was responsible for complete project delivery, including; project setup (request, plans, dispositons, titles ...), power line field alignment, power line design and staking based on authenicated construction standards, calculations of power line design clearance, calculations of anchor load, drafting of construction drawing, production of staking report and preliminary material list.

As a Senior Field Representative with Maltais Geomatics for 17 years I was involved in a wide variety of projects. I led a survey crew in completing all aspects of oil and gas development surveying in both surveyed and unsurveyed territory. I surveyed both large diameter pipeline projects and small diameter gathering systems. I was involved in land development from the initial topographic surveying to the final subdivision posting and construction staking. Over the 17 years I was very involved in distribution power line design and staking as well as transmission line preliminary topographic survey, construction staking and row posting. Over the years I was involved in many industrial alignment and high precision surveys including machinery and aircraft alignment surveys. I have experience with using a transit with an EDM and full field notes, total station and data collector, post processed GPS and RTK GPS, underground utility locating, atv/utv/snowmobile operation, line cutting, and more. Over the years I was involved in training and coaching new staff in survey standards, practices and equipment operation. I was responsible for pre-calculating projects as well as checking field returns and final plans with the use of Microsurvey and Leica Geo Office.
